4:30-6:20 (The Tightrope)

Will not be misguided
I don't wanna be the one with a grudge
Won't let this life take the best of me
Never gonna be one to judge.

Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade
The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five
But I am still alive.

I got a light building up inside of my head
But I'm going nowhere down these streets instead

You're just a burnout
You've got nothing worth saying
Nobody listens to your complaining
Shape up man before it's too late
Got one life to live do it straight

The only edge band that matters.

I say this every time, but I've been meaning to do this post since New Years, so two weeks later here it is!

Most of these I picked up simply to fill holes in my collection (I.E Suicidal Tendencies,Otis Redding & Black Flag) But they're still good. I hadn't heard this Black Flag album before (Okay, I was scared). It surely ranks above Family Man, but it doesn't compare to anything they did with any singer or band arrangement. Whatever, one less hole in my BF collection.

The Sham 69 Live record kicks ass, but I have a soft spot for early Sham, and that's where most of these tracks come from. AAAAAAAAAAANGUUUULS WITH DIRTY FAAAAAAAACES.

Which leads me to the next number. This fucking Cro-Mags record. It's obviously a bootleg of some sort (with the Age of Quarrel Demo recordings along with 3 live tracks from the Ritz in 1986 thrown in for good measure. It's hand numbered as 395/500, and it's on transparent orange vinyl, that's all I know about it. I prefer the demo recordings to the "real thing" so I'm all the more stoked about this.

As luck would have it, this is one of the few records I kept an eye out for EVERYWHERE I went and never had any luck finding it. Good thing someone was lookin out and picked it up as a Christmas present! Best Christmas present of the year, no contest. (and probably next year too)

Next up is a trio of goodies that came in the mail for me today from Painkiller Records. The New Lows teaser tape for their upcoming album is pretty sweet, I've only listened once but I think it'll grow on me quite fast. It has a Jerry's Kids cover that works out surprisingly well.

Force Fed put out their 5 Song EP to follow up their equally awesome '08 Demo. This band just rules, as far as I'm concerned this band should be getting far more recognition than they are right now.

And finally, the No One Rules - New York Hardcore 1981-1984 book. A history of early NYHC told simply through a collection of show flyers and ads. No text, just the ads. I took a quick flip through when it got here and it looks awesome, especially the Raybeez letter that they used as an intro of sorts. 350 published, with this being #204, get yours soon before this disappears.

It feels like we were kids
It feels like we were home
It feels like we turned out all right.

Don't sweat it
Best just forget it
It'll only punch a hole right through you.

Well, since I take bad pictures of everything else I spend my time on...

Books that I've acquired one way or another since Christmas. A couple were gifts from awesome people, and a couple more were textbooks I had to buy for not so awesome prices.

Come Friday night and I'm
Feelin alright and I
Know just what to do
To get what I need.

The clock will not stop
Making noise
It reminds me of all the time
I've lost
